For many years, Sascha Peppercorn was Cleveland's best-known living statue performance artist. You may have seen her at many of our local street festivals or busking events such as the annual Dia de los Muertos festival and the WCSB Halloween Masquerade Ball.
While she initially began performing as a classical statue, over time she evolved her character into that of a 'living doll'. This allowed for greater interaction with the public, particularly children. It also gave an excuse to wear much more colorful outfits, to the delight of her costumer soul!
Most recently, she has become Madame Sascha, Living Automaton. Madame Sascha made some early appearances at benefits for CleShakes and for Spaces Gallery; but the project was fully realized for the Brite Winter Festival in early 2020. You can watch a reel of Madame Sascha in action here
In addition to statue work, she has also appeared in her capacity as a sideshow performer/glasswalker at Cleveland's Screaming, as a vampire protesting the Cleveland Garlic Festival, as the Snow Queen at the downtown holiday lighting ceremony; and as the Holiday Elf Sascha Peppermint, hosting trolley tours of the Gordon Square Arts District.
Sascha is available to perform at fairs, private events, parties etc - speak to the statue through my contact page. Or visit my other sites:
